WEEK ENDING: 10-29-17          WATER TEMPERATURE: 70

Bass are schooled up, and chasing silversides on the surface, all over the lake.  Most of the largemouth are in the 1lb. to 1.5lb. range, with some of the wolf packs averaging 2 plus pounds. These fish can be finicky, and what works one day, might not the next. But guys who unlock the code have been having some phenomenal days on the water, reporting 20 to 40 fish days. The bluegill bite has tapered off, although a few nice red ear came in last week. Redworms were the bait of choice for the shellcrackers. There numerous reports of some of the lakes big, blue catfish cruising the shallows, though no catches were reported last week.

These fish have been a bit finicky, with one bait working one day, and not the next. Those who have been able find out what they want that day have had some excellent fishing on largies averaging 1.5 to 2lbs. Bluegill still coming in from the backs of coves on mealworms, and......
