Dixon Lake fishing conditions have been excellent with many large fish being caught over 5 pounds. There are nice sized stockers being caught all over the lake with the most action at Whisker Bay and at the Buoy line.

Angler of the week goes to Chris Stedman of Escondido who caught the big fish of the season with an 11 pound "Tailwalker" on a rattle trap. This Rainbow trout was holding out inside of Catfish Cove.

Aiden Olinger (5 years old) from Vista caught a 4 lb 8 oz Rainbow trout at the north Buoy line on a night crawler. Wayto- Go Aiden!!! Also, Otto Nellsen of San Marcos weighed in a decent 4 pound trout on rainbow power bait near the Buoy line. All other fish are running in the 2-4 pound range with early AM action proving best.

Most trout are being caught on night crawlers, Rainbow Power Bait, small crappie mini jigs, pink and orange Power worms, and an assortment of lures such as Rooster-tails, Kastmasters, and Thomas Buoyant lures.

With the recent rain storms, this might turn the catfish bite on again. The Jack Creek is now flowing inside of Trout Cove. Try using cut mackerel, chicken livers or shrimp for the best baits.

Dixon Lake's stocking schedule is slated for 1500 pounds on 2/10/10 and again on 2/24/10 from Nebraska's Chaulk Mound Trout Ranch pending weather conditions.
