CATCHING THE SPOTLIGHT

Bass anglers were the big winners this week. Wayne Forsberg took full advantage of this and caught this 3.5 lb. bass on Lake 5. The Santee Firefighter annual kids fishing derby will be held on Saturday, June 24. Kids between the ages of 3 and 17 will receive a free fishing permit for the day and a free box of worms. Don't forget about our fishing special this month! Half priced fishing permits and discounted gate fees every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during the month of May. If you have pictures of your catch here at the Lakes, please feel free to email them to me at nlobaugh@padre.org with your name, lake you caught the fish on, and the bait you used.

LAKE LOWDOWN

Avg. Water Temp: 69.0°F Water Clarity: 5 ft. The bass have been biting great all week. Most anglers have told me they are catching them on a variety of soft plastics. I also received one report of a bass caught on a top water frog. Catfish anglers also did extremely well, with many of them catching their limit.
