Bass fishing was excellent last week, with some anglers reporting as many as 20 fish caught, and released in only the A.M. hours! The majority are in the 1.5 to 2Ib class, the rest averaging 3 to 5lbs. Fly-lined plastics, jigs, jerk baits, glide baits, were just a few of the baits that produced. There has also been a good bluegill bite on the large, 1 to 1.5Ib brutes, with nightcrawlers being the bait of choice. Locations were closely guarded. A few red ear, and green sunfish were mixed in with the 'gills, but crappie went unreported, as did catfish.

There was reportedly a 70lb blue cat caught and released, along with a 40lber, and a few in the 25Ib class. Cut...... Read More

There were no reports of any catfish, but it was known that the backs of coves were holding some of the lakes larger blues, with cut mackerel the bait of choice. ...... Read More
