422 anglers attended this past weekend's Trout Season Re-Opener at Santee Lakes

TROUT:
2,000 lbs. of Rainbow Trout was split into lakes 3 and 4 including tagged fish and HUGE Trophy Trout.

Fernando Martinez, pictured above caught the largest Trout over the weekend at 8 lbs. 4 oz. He also caught a 6 lb. Trout that was the fifth largest. Both came out of lake 4 on a nightcrawler. Fernando won a portable DVD player, a fishing pole and tackle bag.

Kyle Joyce age 14 from Rancho Bernardo won 2nd place with a 6 lb. 9 oz. Trout from lake 3 on rainbow powerbait. Kyle won a bicycle.

Daniel Tunnell took 3rd place with a 6 lb. 4 oz. Trout from lake 3 on a spinner bait. Daniel won 2 nights free camping. Daniel also caught a tagged Trout and won a mini fighter pole holder.

Dan Truong, Photo #1 won 4th place with a 6 lb. 1 oz. Trout from lake 3 caught using powerbait and nightcrawler combo. Dan wins a 4 person Coleman Tent.

John Heil, caught a 5 lb. 9 oz. Trout from lake 4 on powerbait.

Kenny Hall age 15 from I.B. caught a 5 lb. 6 oz. Trout from lake 3 on a crankbait.

Mario Gonzalez caught a 5 lb. 2 oz. Rainbow from lake 3 on powerbait.

Corry Binian landed a respectful 5 lb. 1 oz. Trout from lake 3 on nightcrawler/powerbait combo.

Jesse Hadaway, from La Mesa caught a 3 lb. 12 oz. Trout from lake 3 on powerbait.

Ray Quecke, caught a 2 lb. 12 oz. Rainbow from lake 3 on powerbait.

Leticia Dizon caught a couple of 3 pounders out of lake 3 on a nightcrawler one was tagged. Leticia won 2 adult and 2 Jr. fishing permits.

Julian Keaton-Hall age 8 from San Diego caught a 3 lb. tagged Trout out of lake 3 and won 2 adult and 2 Jr. fishing permits.

Darius Servis caught a tagged Trout out of lake 3 and won a rod and reel combo.

Francisco Reyes caught a tagged Trout out of lake 4 and won a rod and reel combo.

Larry Bethune caught a tagged Trout out of lake 4 using powerbait/nightcrawler and won $25.

Bryanna, Bryan and Tyler, caught a stringer full of Trout out of lake 4 using nightcrawlers and powerbait.
All Trout weighing 5 lbs. or larger get you entered into the April 1st drawing for a flat screen tv. Plenty of tagged Trout still remain to be caught as well as some double digit Rainbows. Santee Lakes is open 7 days a week.
