The Bass bite has been excellent at Santee Lakes

BASS:
The Bass bite has been excellent especially in the AM hours. All 7 Lakes have produced Bass over 10 lbs. Reminder Bass are catch and release. Shiners are NOT permitted.

CATFISH:
Lakes 3 and 4 split a stock of Catfish this past Friday and several limits were caught. Bryce Lund from Santee caught his limit out of lake 4 on nightcralwers. Larry Christia from Lemon Grove caught 4 Catfish out of lake 4 on shrimp.

BLUEGILL:
Bluegill are plentiful in all lakes. This is the perfect time of year to bring the kids out and catch their first fish.

Night Fishing (registered campers only, lakes 6&7)

** No California State Fishing License required to fish at Padre Dam's Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve.

Fishing Permit Fees
Adult (ages 16 and over) $9.00 per day
Junior (ages 7 to 15) $6.00 per day
Second fishing pole stamp $4.00
*One child under 7 may fish for free with a paid adult
