Catfish & Bass are both on the bite at Santee Lakes

CATFISH:
Just over 100 anglers joined us last Thursday for nightfishing. 5 year old Brendon Foley of El Cajon was having fun with his Dad and brother when he caught his first fish ever - a 4 lb. cat using chicken livers. They went home with 4 cats total form Lake 3.

7 year old Andrea came with her family and they took home 4 nice size cats from Lake 3 - using Secret 7 catfish bait.

Mario of Santee landed 2 Bass and 3 cats, releasing them all back into Lake 4. Jacob 3, and his brother Troy, 5 were here with Grandma, Dad and friends from Santee and El Cajon - they released their share of catfish. When they were here last weekend they caught some Bluegill and a snapping Red Slider turtle who put up a pretty good fight.

The Lakes final Nightfishing event will be held on Thursday, August 23rd. 5:00 pm till 11:30 pm. Bring a lantern.

BASS: Jerry Brown, pictured above from El Cajon caught a 3 lb. 8 oz. Bass out of lake 4 on mealworms. Jonah Hebel, Photo #1 age 13 from El Cajon also landed a 3 lb. 8 oz. Bass out of lake 5 on a plastic worm.
