Fishing improved slightly for both the cats and bass. Jerk baits yielded some nice bass for shore anglers. Some are being caught on spoons in suspended 40 to 50ft. of water. Cats continue to prowl the shallows. Find brush in the water in the coves and you have a chance at cats.

Best Cat Spots:
Bird Trees and the edges of any flooded trees particularly in the backs of the coves.

Best Cat Bait:
Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots:
Hermit Cove and they are moving back to the points.

Best Bass Lures/Bait:
Texas rigged creature baits, crawdads, Bass Assassins'.

Water Temp:
71 degrees on surface

Prognosis:
The channel catfish as they move into the shallows looking for spawning spots are best found in the backs of the coves. If we get some warmer days a topwater bite will get going....

Fishing did not improve this weekend for any species. One angler report 5 bass on a jerk bait but he was the only one. Most bassers struggled to get one fish. Cats were not any better. No limits were reported. What action there was happened in the backs of the coves. One angler reported catching "a lot" of redears but would not reveal where or with what so it is unverifiable. The drizzle and cold front put the chill on all the bites. Trout were caught incidentally. A few cats were caught, mostly in the backs of the coves. The bass had lockjaw. Most bassers got 1 fish while fishing hard...
