Hello from your Lake Jennings. We will be open tomorrow on President's Day. Rainy weather hosed weekend attendance. Put a chill on the bass bite. The only bright spot was a continued bite off the fishing float by rainbows. Trolled orange Power Worm / nightcrawler combos or the same setup fished under a water float produced easy limits. One cat angler nailed some 1 to 2's at the muddy water line in Hermit Cove. Don't forget the San Diego Council of Bass Clubs Swap Meet on March 6, 2011 here at Lake Jennings.
Best Trout Spots: Boat dock, fishing float and the buoyline triangle.
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Orange Power Worms with ? a crawler, slow trolled.
Best Catfish Spots: The buoyline off Eggert Point and Hermit Cove.
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel and nightcrawlers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots:Sentry and Eagle points.
Best Bass Lures/bait: Texas rigged creature baits and big Senkos. No swimbait fish.
Water Temp: 59 degrees on surface.
Notables: No limits under 30 minutes or fish over 3 lbs. reported.
Prognosis: We will again stock 1000 lbs of Sierra 'Bows on Tuesday. The forecasted storm won't help the prespawn bass bite.
Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a free fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will talk about trout. Ranger Hugh will be the professor. Lake Jennings Campground now has WiFi at every campsite and is open year round. Make your reservation online today at: http://www.lakejennings.org

Lake Jennings Fishing Report
Lake JenningsHello from your Lake Jennings. Slight changes from last week. The only bite this weekend was trolling a nightcrawler and a orange Power worm between the boat dock the fishing float and the buoyline. Drifting a crawler 4 ft. under a red and white bobber in the same area also worked. The best spot was the north side of the Fishing Float and guys throwing a crawler with a water float and letting it sink slowly out fished the...... Read More
