Hello from your Lake Jennings! The good trout bite returned, but it continues to be a bait bite. Trolling is nada! Bankies are doing as well and boaters. Not many fishing for cats but those that do have dinner. Not a lot of bass activity. Crawdads are outfishing plastics.

Best Trout Spots: Cactus patch, Half Moon Cove and Sentry Points.
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Inflated nightcrawlers and salmon peach Power Bait.

Best Catfish Spots: The dam buoyline and Cloister Cove.
Best Catfish Bait: Chicken livers, mackerel, and night crawlers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: The quarry.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Crawdads.

Notables: Sat., Ryan Smith, Lake Elsinore, 3-4 largemouth, inflated crawler, Cactus Patch. Sat., Zach Sawaya, El Cajon, 3-3 largemouth & 3-0 rainbow, inflated crawler, Cactus Patch.

Prognosis: Our 14th Sierra Bow trout plant is on schedule for Tuesday, January 19th. We will stock 1,000 lbs. every week for the next 10 weeks. Runoff always brings cats to the coves. Fish the color line and they will be there .The rain may put a damper on the bass and trout next weekend, but I have been known to be wrong....

Water Temperature: 54 degrees on the surface.

Current Schedule: Lake Jennings will be open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.

FREE Fishing Classes Open to the Public!

Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate
on what is working best. This week's class will talk about trout fishing. Most importantly, the classes are
FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.

Hello from your Lake Jennings! Sorry about the lack of information for the last two weeks, but I could not get out of bed to write this. I will admit that up until a few days ago the rumors of my demise seemed to be true but now appear to be exaggerated. What did die are the hot bites. We are raising the lake about 5 inches a day and that has everything trying to figure out where to go and what to do....... Read More
