Goodmorning everyone! The spotlight is shining bright on Antonio and Cameron today! Antonio caught an awesome 10 lb. catfish during the catfish opener. Cameron caught this beautiful largemouth bass on a sunny day. Both great catches!

Catfish season is in full swing. Lakes 2,3, and 4 have been stocked this month with lakes 3 and 4 being stocked this last weekend. Trophy sized catfish were stocked for our opener but we also had some trophy sized catfish stocked this weekend in Lakes 3 and 4 as well. The best bait to be using for catfish would be any of the following: Mackerel, stinkbait, nightcrawlers, chicken liver, shrimp, or anything else that might be smelly.

Bluegill and Crappie have been in the mix too! We have bluegill and crappie in all the lakes and they have definitely been getting active. The best bait to use for them would be wax worms, meal worms, nightcrawlers, or red worms. A great place for children to fish to catch one of these smaller, yet still fun to catch fish, would be in the kids fishing pond! It is located on southeast Lake 5, close to the general store. We stocked it recently with bluegill, and with crappie which was new for this year.

The bass bite has been hot recently, especially on the sunny days. It has been a little slower on the cloudy days but the water has warmed up and is in the high 60s so the bass are definitely active even on the cloudy days. Crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, swimbaits, worms, and topwater baits are good bets.
