The trout are still biting with the occasional limit being reported. Anglers fishing from boats are doing better than those fishing from shore. Rainbow powerbait and inflated nightcrawlers are the top baits.

Catfish action is heating up along with the warmer water temps. We will begin stocking catfish this coming week. Lake Wohlford cats prefer cut mackerel or chicken liver.

Crappie are being caught by boaters drifting or trolling and also, most recently, from shore along Senior Shoreline. When Crappie anglers are able to locate the elusive panfish they are often being rewarded with double digit stringers of nice sized crappie The Crappie respond best to mini-jigs or live golden shiners.

As the water warms the bass are becoming increasingly active. Bass lurk around structure waiting to ambush their prey. They bite well on crawdads or dark colored plastics.
