TROUT SEASON COMES TO A CLOSE

The last stocking of Rainbow Trout is this week! Another 1,500 pounds of trout from Idaho will go into the lake. Over 20,000 pounds of trout from Idaho and DFW was stocked this season. Hermit and Cloister Coves were the most active coves for catching trout. A lot of trout were reeled in by boat late in the season. Mini jigs, powerbait, and nightcrawlers were the most effective baits. You have to get up early to take advantage of the best bite. Limits were caught by many! Overall, it was a great season and we look forward to doing it again next season.

FISH REPORT

What’s the Catch? Bass, crappie, and catfish were biting during New Moon Fishing this weekend. Bites were reported from the t-dock, Cloister Cove, and Eagle Cove. The panfish were biting on meal worms and pieces of garlic nightcrawler. Catfish can’t resist the dip baits, but if you use a frozen bait option, let it thaw a little before baiting your hook. The smellier the bait, the better for catfish! Sounds like the cats were schooling on the shoreline near Eggert Point this weekend. Bass were biting on the southeastern shoreline past the t-dock as well as Shadow Cove. Reports were the bass were biting on Roboworms and jerk baits.

Conditions: The temperature around the boat is currently 64 degrees. The sun is rising at 6:24 a.m. and setting at 7:15 p.m. Temperatures are trending up! The forecast is looking sunny and warm this weekend.
