The algae bloom is affecting visibility but the bass fishing definitely picked up over the weekend, with jerk baits, plastic worms and shiners being angler's bait of choice. Crappie fishermen were here getting a jump on crappie season. The majority of the reports came out of Bushlow’s Cove and Otay Arm.

The worm bite is good and the bass are in the shallows. The majority of reports are coming out of Harvey’s Arm. The worm bite was good this week for bass. Anglers reported catches around 30 feet deep and also tight up against the banks. The crappie bite keeps getting better and better each week.
