The water is a bit murky and the temp is 65 degrees. The bass are practically a no show with a few small ones bright caught on the drop shot rig in 20 feet plus. Some catfish are being caught late in the afternoon with mackerel and shrimp. Two fisherman reported seeing school fo trout in San Carlos Bay. A father and son team, Robert and Bobby Collins caught 5 trout fishing from shore on San Carlos point. A few bluegill were caught in the tules in Padre Bay, the fish were small but very exciting for 9 year old Justin. “I hooked something really bit bit it came off”, said Justin.

The bass have gone deep, the bluegill have disappeared. The catfish are showing up in the backs of the coves. The bass bite was up this week especially in the north facing coves. Crank baits are working well but it takes a little more skill and experience this time of year. Shiners are always a good bet and can be found at the bait shop. Bluegill are biting on small pieces of worm and if you can find live crochets that are loving those. ...... Read More
