Friday Reports

  • The New Seaforth got into a hot Calico Bass bite for their Half Day PM trip. Plastics, Stickbaits and live bait all worked well making for a fun day for both the avid and beginner angler! Their is still some availability is left for this weekend's Half Day Trips. Book soon as they are going fast!

  • The San Diego had a decent shot at a few island Yellowtail and a nice bag of Assorted Rockfish, Vermillions, Sheephead and Lingcod on their Coronado Islands Full day trip. There continues to be good sign of fish at the island a favorable weather and wind forecast into this weekend. A few spots remain for this weekend's trip on the San Diego but are going quickly! A valid passport is required for everyone on.

  • Update 3:45 PM The Aztec reported in from their 3 Day trip with 65 Bluefin Tuna. Captain Justin recommends 25 or 30 pound fluorocarbon and a #2 hook for the bluefin they are catching.
  • As of late the Captains have been recommending 25 to 40 pound line with matching fluorocarbon leaders for this grade of Bluefin that we are currently seeing. The fish have been responding well to flyline baits. It is also recommended to bring some heavier gear as well as some Shimano Flatfall or Daiwa SK style jigs since there are some larger Bluefin still in the area.

    The New Seaforth had some great Calico Bass action with some fun bottom fishing on today's AM half Day Trip. 8 Calico Bass were caught and many more were released making for some nice late season top water action! There is plenty of availability on our Half-Day this week on the New Seaforth so book soon and take advantage of enjoying a half day out on the water with potential light loads and plenty of rail space!     The San Diego ended their Full Day to the Coronado Islands with 5 Yellowtail, 60 Whitefish, 2 Sheephead and 2 Lingcod. Their Yellowtail were in the 22 to 28 pound range! The Tribute finished their 1.5 day trip with 8 Bluefin and 7 Yellowtail for 22 anglers. Captain Buzz mentioned that flyline and the sinker rig were the best methods for all of their fish so far.
