Thursday Reports

  • The Pacifica wrapped up their Overnight run to Tanner Bank with 36 Bluefin between 25 to 40 pounds and 7 Yellowtail for their 30 anglers.
  • The Voyager returned this morning from a 1.5 Day trip with 26(limits) Bluefin and 5 Yellowtail for their 13 anglers. All of their fish were in the 30 to 40 pound range.
  • The Apollo also returned this morning from a 2.5 Day charter with 58 Bluefin, 1 Yellowfin and 8 Yellowtail for their 16 anglers.
  • As of late the Captains have been recommending 30 to 40 pound line with matching fluorocarbon leaders for this grade of Bluefin that we are currently seeing. The fish have been responding well to flyline baits. It is also recommended to bring some heavier gear as well as some Shimano Flatfall or Daiwa SK style jigs if the opportunity for some night fishing arises since there are some larger Bluefin still in the area.
