  • Stocking: So far this season we have stocked 3500 pounds of catfish! The next stocking will be the week of June 21st. We will stock a total of 10,000 pounds this season. For an updated stocking schedule, click HERE.
  • What's the catch? The t-dock saw a lot of action this weekend. Limits of trout were caught off of the t-dock. One lucky fishermen had a trout on his line only to be chased down by a bass as he was reeling it in! Catfish were reeled in from the campground shoreline using Spam. More cats were caught on mackerel and nightcrawlers in Siesta and Half Moon Coves. Bluegill were biting in Hermit Cove and Cloister Cove on nightcrawlers. In addition to the t-dock, anglers looking for bass found Sentry Point to be productive and landed bass by casting out past the structure.
  • New Lake Hours: With catfish season comes new lake hours! We are extending our hours on Saturdays, 6:00 a.m. to midnight (entrance gate closes at 10:00 p.m.) and Sundays, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (entrance gate closes at 4:00 p.m.) Night fishing hours on Friday remain the same 3:00 p.m. to midnight.
  • WE'RE HIRING! We are currently hiring for a temporary (approximately 1 year) Maintenance Ranger at Lake Jennings. This is a full-time position with medical, dental, sick leave, and retirement. The Maintenance Ranger performs lake and campground facilities maintenance, repair and construction activities and ensures the security of the district's reservoir and campground in addition to other related duties as assigned. Regular schedule includes weekend hours. For more information about this position and others available at the district, visit Helix Water District's careers page.
  • Campground News: We are now renting cornhole sets for the weekend (Friday & Saturday night) to registered campers. Sets include two boards and 8 bags. They are $40 for the whole weekend. We will deliver the set to your campground and pick it up on Sunday upon departure. Call the campground at 619-596-1306 to reserve yours today. Sets are first come, first served.
  • Conditions: The aerator has been turned on for the season, so as the water circulates the temps in the water column will level out. The district is filling the lake at a rate of 2" per day until June 17th. The current temperature is 71 degrees. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
  • We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and campers! If you have a picture to share, please send it to ranger@lakejennings.org and we may feature it in our newsletter or social media pages.
