Hello from Your Lake Jennings: We are taking out the trout report because the catch has been almost zero. The cat bite picked up Friday , but it did not last. 1 to 2lb. fish in the coves though there was a report of a limit of cats being caught in 50 ft. of water. Bass continue to be problematic. One morning the bass are chasing shad all over the surface and then they disappear for several days.

Best Cat Spots: Bird trees, Hermit Cove, and any of the coves in the brush. Use 20 lb test and horse them out of the cover.
Best Cat Bait: Night crawlers and mackerel. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Dropshotting Sentry and Eagle Points in 25 to 30 ft. Topwater at the bank
Best Bass Lures /bait: Dropshotting 4" worms. Frogs and Pop-R's.

Water Temp. 70 to 71 degrees on surface.

Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. reported.

Prognosis: Remember that we do not open until 5 PM on Friday. Another 1000 lbs of Rock and Fish Ranch channel cats will be stocked Friday. It is hard not to like the cool weather but there is a reason why they call them " warmwater fish."

The Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will be teaching cat fishing?Ķ?Ķ

Hello from Your Lake Jennings: Fishing is best described as fair for all species. The spots have not changed or the methods. The fishing float has been averaging 1 trout limit per day. It is the only spot on the lake to produce trout at all. The numbers are down and no one has really figured it out. We could blame it on the moon but then our night fishing should be wide open. We could blame it...... Read More

Hello from Lake Jennings! The bite is best described as lousy for everything. A mixed bag of trout and cats are coming off the fishing float. The topwater bass action is best described as sporadic. The best bet is to have a rod rigged and if they blow up close you are ready but concentrate on plastics. I think that the cat bite will improve if anglers concentrate on fishing shallow and along side of submerged vegetation. Best Trout Spots: Shadow Cove and the fishing float. Best...... Read More
