Bass fishing slowed just a bit with last weeks cooler air temps, although most angler reported double digit numbers. The largemouth were taking just about everything tossed at them, so choose your weapon! The bluegill bite shifted gears last week, as several angels had numbers of .5-1 pound ‘gills. A handle of redder showed as well. Once again it was s drop shotted nigthcrawler that produced the best results for panfish. Catfish were absent last week.

The bass bite was good last week, and most anglers reported double digit numbers. Top waters, small swim baits, rip baits, and all finesse techniques produced. The largemouth have been scattered from 1 to 30 feet of water all over the lake. Panfish action remains fair for now, we’re still waiting for it to take off. The bass bite stayed consistent this past week, despite the algae bloom, and heavy boat traffic later in the week. Fly-lined plastics, and finesse techniques fished in 2’ to 25’ produced throughout the day. Most of the largemouth have been in the 1-2 pound range. Bluegill and red ear still haven’t shown in numbers as of yet, though most anglers targeting them managed to get a few in the nag.
