  • Stocking:  The next trout stocking is this week! Another 1,500 pounds of trout will be added bringing our total stock up to 11,500 pounds this season. The lake will be stocked bi-weekly through the week of April 19th. To view an updated stocking schedule, click HERE.
  • What's the catch? This weekend anglers caught trout at depths of 30-40 ft. by boat or casting from Siesta Point. A variety of baits were used including Powerbait, Hookup Bait, and inflated night crawlers. The best bass spot was off Sentry Point near the center of the lake. Anglers were using drop shot and Senkos. Catfish were deep along the tower buoy line near Shadow Cove and biting on mackerel and nightcrawlers. We had our first report of bluegill bite in a while in Half Moon Cove on meal worms.
  • Trout Fishing Tips: On bright, sunny days, trout will be deep at least 15-20 feet. Our rangers recommend fishing for trout first thing in the morning and late in the day around sunset. If you're fishing midday however, using a metallic lure or bait with glitter such as Powerbait can attract the attention of trout from a distance. Save your fluorescent lures and bait for cloudy overcast days where trout will see them.
  • New Moon Fishing: On Thursday, February 11th the lake will be open 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for night fishing. Take advantage of that sunset trout bite and a recently stocked lake! Both rentals and launches will be available. A full-sized lantern is required after 5:00 p.m.
  • Lake Open Presidents' Day: What better way to cap off your 3-day weekend than to spend the day at the lake? Join us on Monday, February 15th for fishing, boating, hiking, picnicking, eagle watching, etc.! The lake will be open 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Fishing Line Recycling: Your fishing line is made of strong flexible plastic called monofilament. Monofilament is not biodegradable and animals can ingest it or become entangled. Additionally, boats can drive over it causing damage to engines. We have two monofilament recycling stations at Lake Jennings located at the t-dock. You can help keep monofilament out of the environment by recycling your fishing line.
  • Conditions: The current water temperature is 58 degrees. Water transparency is 51 feet. For a complete weather report in Lakeside this weekend, click HERE.
  • Campground News: Have you heard the news? The campground is open for new reservations! Tent campers are welcome too. To make a reservation, visit our reservations page.
  • We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and campers! If you have a picture to share, please send it to ranger@lakejennings.org and we may feature it in our newsletter or social media pages.
