  • Stocking: Stay tuned for information regarding trout season! Keep your eyes peeled for the Season Opener. We will be posting the stocking schedule and event details in the coming weeks.
  • What's the catch? Panfish were being pulled from all over the lake again this weekend. Fishermen were using nightcrawlers and mealworms to reel them in. Catfish were being reeled in from the shoreline below the bait shop, Siesta Cove, and the campground shoreline using chicken livers and mackerel. The best spots for bass were the t-dock and Half Moon Cove this weekend. Anglers were using rooster tail lures and roboworms. When fishing with rooster tails, our rangers recommend trying to match the colors of our lake, i.e. since our water is fairly clear, try using a white rooster tail on bright sunny days. On cloudy days, try using a chartreuse colored rooster tail.
  • The tank in the bait shop is stocked...with crawfish! Our new feisty friends, named the Crawdashians, joined us from the San Diego Humane Society where they were rescued from the San Diego River.
  • Check out all of our upcoming EVENTS at the lake and campground!
  • Friday Night Fishing: If you keep coming, we will keep staying open late. For now, every Friday night from 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. the lake is open for night fishing, boating and evening picnicking. Remember, full sized lanterns are required after 8:00 p.m. and the lake entrance gate closes at 10:00 p.m.
  • Be mindful of vegetation along our shorelines. The lake waterline has dropped about 10 feet the last couple of months and there is underlying vegetation that will get caught up in your motors if you're not careful.

  • Campground News: Summer is over and long term campsites are available! We have full and partial hookups available and some even have a view of the lake! If you would like to know long term availability or have questions, please call (619) 596-1333.
  • Super Site: Formerly our group area, the super site sits at the highest point in the campground with unobstructed views of the lake and city. There is parking for up to three vehicles, a fire ring, picnic tables, lots of tree shade, and a partially enclosed pavilion with electrical power. Tents only please. The Super Site is $79 Sunday-Thursday and $99 Friday and Saturday. To book the Super Site click HERE!
