The lake will close on weekdays after Labor Day remaining open only on the weekends throughout the fall. We will re-open seven days a week in mid-December following the first trout plant.

The Catfish bite is best at the West Buoy Line. Lake Wohlford cats prefer chicken liver or cut mackerel. Stop by the ranger station for a dough-bait recipe that works well on both catfish and carp.

A small number of Crappie are being reported in the early mornings in close to shore or hiding underneath the Crappie Float. Crappie prefer the cover of shade and are most often caught using crappie jigs or live golden shiners.
