  • Stocking: The lake will be stocked with another 1,000 lbs. of catfish this week, just in time for Friday Night Fishing!
  • What's the catch? We had a couple of fisherman catch upwards of 20 bluegill this weekend. Meal worms and wax worms seem to be doing the trick! You can find Bluegill all over the lake. The bass bite was good in several spots this weekend...off of the old boat launch, in Sentry Cove, and Half Moon Cove. Anglers were using rooster tail and Kastmaster lures, as well as plastic worms. Catfish limits were pulled out of Shadow Cove and Siesta Cove last Friday night. Fishermen were using a variety of bait from mackerel to dip bait and chicken livers. Our rangers suggest moving your bait around to create a wide area of attractant.
  • Friday Night Fishing: Every Friday night from 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Boat rentals available this weekend! Full sized lanterns required after 8:00 p.m. Lake gate will close at 10:00 p.m.
  • Conditions: The water temperature is 80 degrees. For an up-to-date weather forecast in Lakeside click HERE. Helix Water District is pulling 16-18 million gallons of water from the lake per day. The level will go down about 10 vertical feet from July 31 for about a month. Please be mindful of changing shorelines.
  • No Swimming! We know it's warm out there, but please remember that Lake Jennings is a drinking water reservoir and bodily contact is not permitted. Thank you for your compliance.
  • New Dock Update: We are putting the finishing touches on the new dock. In addition to a new dock, a new boat launch ramp is scheduled to be poured the week of August 17th. We will be able to rent boats the following weekend (August 21-23), but boat launches will be suspended because the concrete will need time to cure.
  • Help Wanted! The part-time Office Assistant position provides administrative and customer service-based support for the Lake and Campground Operations at Lake Jennings. Duties and responsibilities may include processing invoices, hours entry, bank deposits, assisting customers onsite or over the phone with reservations and questions, etc. For more information CLICK HERE
  • Kayak Rentals and Regulations: Lake Jennings has kayaks for rent! Kayak rentals are $10/hour or $30 for a partial day. Our 10 foot kayaks feature pole holders and comfortable seats. Launching your own kayak? The launch fee is $8/kayak. Your kayak must be a sit-in kayak and at least 10 feet long, not self-bailing and have seats for all persons inside. No sit-on top or inflatable kayaks will be permitted.
  • Lake COVID Regulations: Only one family unit in the bait shop at a time and everyone must wear a mask both in line and in the bait shop. Hand washing facilities are available at the bathrooms adjoining the bait shop. Please maintain social distancing at all times. Card payment is preferred. Please help us stay open by complying with these simple measures to keep our staff and the public safe.
  • There is no day use or visitors permitted in the campground per county regulations. The campground is only open for registered campers. Please make a reservationbefore arriving at the campground. Thank you for your cooperation!
  • We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and campers! If you have a picture to share, please send it to ranger@lakejennings.org and we may feature it in our newsletter or social media pages.
