The bass continue to bite on various soft plastics in addition to topwater frogs and swimbaits. Popular baits include ikas, frogs, and flukes. Popular spots include the west side of Lake 5 and the southwest corner of Lake 4. The catfish are biting on a mix of baits such as mackerel, chicken liver, and meal worms. The nice sized cat (pictured above) was caught on mackerel out of Lake 2. Popular spots include the east shore of Lake 4 and the south shore of Lake 2. Our next scheduled stock will take place on Monday, August 10. Lakes 2 and 4 were most recently stocked on 7/27/20 with 500 pounds of catfish each.

Join us August 13, 2020 at 5 PM for our fifth night fishing event of the season. Annual Parking/Fishing passes are not valid. No California State License is needed, just a Santee Lakes daily permit. Lakes 1 through 4 only. 5 PM to 11:30 PM. A lantern and/or headlight is required, radios will not be permitted, and please remember to pick up your trash. Night fishing will occur the second and fourth Thursday of August.
