  • Stocking: The lake will be stocked with another 1,000 lbs. of catfish this week.
  • What's the catch? It's all about the Bluegill. Catches are all over the lake, but prime habitat for bluegill includes weed beds, aquatic vegetation, and tree shaded shorelines. You can also find them in the shadows of the t-dock. They are biting on waxworms and mealworms. Bass were biting along Cactus Patch on blue/black flake Senkos. Shady Siesta Cove yielded a few catfish this weekend. Fishermen were using mackerel and chicken liver. Our rangers recommend leaving your bail open. When a catfish picks up your bait, it will take off like a freight train! If your bail is closed it will take your rod and reel with it. When the catfish runs, count to 15 before setting the hook.
  • Night Fishing: We know you're anxious to get back to fishing under the stars! As soon as the lights are installed on the new dock, we will release more dates for night fishing. Keep an eye on our social media and event pages for night fishing dates.
  • Conditions: The water temperature is 80 degrees. For an up-to-date weather forecast in Lakeside click HERE.
  • Boat Rentals are available first-come first-served! All those in a boat must be from a shared household unit to a maximum of 5 people. Boats may be limited due to sanitation requirements. To save time and limit staff contact, please print, sign and bring with you, the boat waiver found HERE.
  • Lake COVID Regulations: Only one family unit in the bait shop at a time and everyone must wear a mask both in line and in the bait shop. Hand washing facilities are available at the bathrooms adjoining the bait shop. Please maintain social distancing at all times. Card payment is preferred. Please help us stay open by complying with these simple measures to keep our staff and the public safe.
  • There is no day use or visitors permitted in the campground per county regulations. The campground is only open for registered campers. Please make a reservationbefore arriving at the campground. Thank you for your cooperation!
  • WE'RE HIRING! Love the lake as much as we do? We're hiring Dockhands to provide excellent customer service to lake visitors and maintain our boat rental fleet. Dockhands work weekends and holidays at the lake. We're also looking for Park Hosts to work in our campground. Exchange a minimum of 20 hours per week (includes weekends and holidays) for a campsite that includes water and electricity under a month-to-month lease agreement. For more information or to apply, please visit  Helix Water District's job site.
