The PACIFICA checked in from a 1.5 day trip with 15 Bluefin in the 110 pound class, 3 Yellowfin tuna and 10 Yellowtail. The SAN DIEGO's Full day trip boated 3 Bluefin to 135 pounds with a handful that got away. Both boats report seeing good signs of 80-150 pound tuna. Tackle recommendations from both captains include some heavier tackle including an 80 pound jig rod for flatfall jig fishing, 50-60 pound for sinker fishing sardines and 30-40 pound outfits to flyline sardines for smaller tuna or kelp paddy Yellowtail.
