  • Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1500 lbs. of trout from Wright's Rainbows the week of March 9th. The next stocking will be the week of March 23rd. Only three more stockings left until we transition to catfish season. Come out and fish for trout while you can!
  • Lake Hours: As the days become longer, so do the operating hours at the lake. Beginning Friday, March 13th, the lake will be open 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • New Moon Fishing: On Saturday, March 21st the lake will be open until 10:00 p.m. for fishing.Full sized lanterns are required. Currently, we are expecting partly cloudy skies with a 10% chance of rain on Saturday. Sunset is at 7:00 p.m.
  • What's the catch? The overcast skies and damp days mean the trout are biting. The past couple of weekends the trout bite has taken a back seat to the bass, but they were back this weekend with anglers catching limits in Hermit Cove, Eagle Point, and Sentry Point. The bait of choice was inflated nightcrawlers and powerbait. Bass were biting in Shadow Cove and off the t-dock using shiners and plastic worms. If you don't have shiners, try using a Kastmaster lure in gold to mimic baitfish. Catfish were biting in Hermit Cove and along the dam buoy line on shrimp and mackerel.
  • Conditions: The water temperature is 61 degrees. The district is currently filling the lake 15 million gallons a day until next weekend. Be aware of changing shorelines. For an up-to-date weather forecast in Lakeside click HERE.
  • WE'RE HIRING! Love the lake as much as we do? We're looking for volunteer Park Hosts to live and work in our campground. Exchange a minimum of 20 hours of labor per week (includes weekends and holidays) for a campsite that includes water and electricity. Park Hosts must have their own RV and be willing to live in the campground. We're also hiring Dockhands to provide excellent customer service to lake visitors and maintain our boat rental fleet. Dockhands work weekends and holidays at the lake. Previous experience preferred, but we'll train the right person to join our team! For more information or to apply, please visit  Helix Water District's job site.
  • We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and guests! If you have a picture you'd like to share, please email them to ranger@lakejennings.org and we may feature them in our next lake newsletter or on social media.
