Hello from Your Lake Jennings: While the trout were in the spotlight they did a lousy acting job. The best actor award went to the largemouth bass and the best supporting actor was taken by the cats. None of them gave stellar performances. The trout bite was as expected with fish scattering all over the lake. The best results came from Cloister Cove but fish were caught at Eagle Point and Siesta Cove. The bass bite remains best early and late on the bank and off the points in 30 ft. of water in the middle of the day. Cats at the buoyline. Need we say more! Best Trout Spots: Cloister Cove.

Best Trout Lures / Bait: Rainbow Power Bait.
Best Cat Spots: The dam buoyline.
Best Cat Bait: Mackerel. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Dawn and dusk tight on the bank.
Best Bass Lures /bait: Ikas, Senkos,

Water Temp. 69 to 70 degrees

Notables: No fish reported over 3 lbs or limits under 1 hour.

Prognosis: Until we build some inventory, locating trout will be difficult. We will add another 1000 lbs this week. The best chance for tugs on the line are the bass and cats. Open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This week it is 6:30 AM until 6:45 PM until Sunday when we go to 5:30 AM to 5:15 PM. Prime times for both cats and bass are 6:30 AM to 9 AM and 4:30 to dark thirty. The Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will be teaching bait fishing for trout at 1 PM on Sunday. Hello from Your Lake Jennings: ??Trout season starts Friday.?? Mount Lassen will stock every week for 24 weeks thereafter. ??The bass seem to know that trout are on their way because a swimbaiter caught 7 on Friday. That is not to say that the Ikas and Senkos stopped catching bass. They still produced numbers but with the bright moon the bite was better in the PM. Cats continue to prowl the deeps at the buoyline. Best Trout Spots: ??None yet. Best Trout...... Read More
