Fish Report for 6-23-2019

The Dolphin PM trip caught 90 Rockfish, 3 Sculpin, 1 Lingcod, 1 Sheephead, 3 Sandbass and 1 Calico Bass for 56 anglers.
The Dolphin AM trip caught 216 Rockfish, 3 Sandbass, 1 Halibut, 1 Barracuda and 1 Lingcod for 70 anglers.
The Liberty returned with 15 Bluefin Tuna (25-80#) and 2 Yellowfin Tuna to finish up their full day offshore trip for 39 anglers.
The Excel returned with 26 Bluefin Tuna.
The Tomahawk returned with 9 Bluefin Tuna (1 @ 145# and 1 @ 150#) and 21 Yellowtail and 1 Yellowfin Tuna for 28 anglers on their 1.5 Day Offshore trip.
The Condor returned with 12 Yellowtail, 2 Bluefin Tuna, and 1 Yellowfin Tuna for 37 anglers on their 1.5 Day Offshore trip.
The Pacific Queen returned with 20 Bluefin Tuna (3 over 100#'s and the rest are 60-90#) for 34 anglers on their 1.5 Day Offshore trip. They also reported nice weather.
Recommended tackle for these Bluefin trips should include a 25# outfit for kelp patty Yellowtail, a 40# live bait set-up with a 1/0 sized circle hook and fluorocarbon, a 50# sinkered bait outfit, and a 60 or 80# flatfall jig setup rigged with fluorocarbon! These past few days, the schools of fish these tuna boats are chasing down can range from 25lbs to well over 100lbs!
