Despite cool air temps, the bass bite here went off the charts as of last Thursday.  Anglers reported up to 40 largies fishing fly-lined plastics, jigs, small swimsuits, etc.  The backs of coves have been producing the best, although you can catch them just about anywhere at the moment.  Most of the largemouth have been males in the 1lb to 2lb range, with the occasional 3lb to 5lb fish showing.  The pan fish have yet to show, probably due to everyone targeting bass.
