Catching the Spotlight
The bass have been biting this week! Theresa (top left) caught this largemouth out of Lake 7 on a nightcrawler. Jack (top right) caught these catfish out of Lake 2 on mackerel. Mike (bottom left) caught this largemouth out of Lake 7 on a fat ika. Rudolph and Andrea (bottom right) caught this catfish out of Lake 2 on Secret-7 dip bait.
Join us November 3rd and 4th for our Trout Opener! Tagged fish will be stocked for prizes along with a chance to win a two-night stay in our floating cabins! No California state license needed, only a Santee Lakes permit.
Lake lowdown
Avg. Water Temp: 68.7°F
Water Clarity: 6 ft.
The bass bite has been heating up this week with report of fish being caught on reaction baits such as jerkbaits and spinnerbaits. Although catfish season is over, I am still getting many reports of fish being caught on mackerel and shrimp.
Popular spots for catfish include the west side of Lake 1 and the South side of Lake 5.
