Catching the Spotlight

Another great week of fishing! The bass and bluegill are beginning to make more of a presence. The warmer weather has made the lake temperatures rise which results in these fish being more active throughout the day. Carter (top left) caught this nice sized bluegill out of Lake 7 on a shad wrap. The catfish bite has been great in the early mornings and late evenings. Many reports of fish being caught on shrimp, mackerel, and chicken liver. Our next scheduled stock is May 4th, 2018.

Avg. Water Temp: 72.3
Water Clarity: 4 ft.

Shrimp is still the popular bait of choice for catfish. The best time for catfish seems to be towards sunset. The bluegill are very active and can be seen along the shoreline on beds. The bass bite continues to heat up as they are now more active due to the warmer weather.
