The Largemouth Bass are hitting aggressively all around the lake. There has been top water action in early morning and late afternoon. Drop shotting plastics is working well in the middle of the day. Several nice Catfish were caught this week with the largest weighing in at 19 pounds. The San Diego Council of Bass Clubs took children from The Crisis House on a fishing adventure on 07-30-17. They caught 54 Bass with the largest coming in at 5.4 pounds. All fish were sucessfully released alive.

The water temperature is staying right around 78-80 degrees. The Largemouth Bass are still hitting well. Derek Christman from La Mesa caught a bass that was between 8 and 10 pounds but he released it before it could be officially weighed. He caught it on a frog in the San Carlos arm. The Bass fishing has slowed down a bit but the water is getting clearer. The Bluegill bite is finally starting to pick up. Long time Lake Murray floattuber, Richard, got 4 nice Bluegill fishing Night Crawlers near Del Cerro point. Light line seems to be the way to go. Several nice Catfish were caught over the weekend from both the fishing pier and the northwest shoreline. The Catfish were caught on Mackerel, Shrimp and Hot Dogs. ...... Read More
