The water temperature is well above the 80 degree mark and the Bass action is still happening. The Catfish are also hitting well and for you Catfishermen here's a catfishing technique that's just what you're looking for. Use 20Ib test line with a 1oz sliding barrel sinker and a three swivel leader setup. Use a 1/0 Wide Bend or Circle Hook on each leader. Bait each hook with cut mackerel or shad. Cut your mackerel right behind the gill plate and use the head. Strip the body crossways into 1/2 -3/4 inch pieces. Find a windy point and let the fight begin. Next week...Bluegill techniques.

The Largemouth Bass are hitting aggressively all around the lake. There has been top water action in early morning and late afternoon. Drop shotting plastics is working well in the middle of the day. The water temperature is staying right around 78-80 degrees. The Largemouth Bass are still hitting well. Derek Christman from La Mesa caught a bass that was between 8 and 10 pounds but he released it before it could be officially weighed. He caught it on a frog in the San Carlos arm.
