Bass fishing has improved this past week, as warming temperatures heat up the action. Fish have been anywhere from 0-25ft in the water column. Top waters have been producing early and late with drop shots and senkos producing midday. Bluegill bite has been fair to good on nightcrawlers at main lake points 10-20 ft deep. Some red ears have been showing up with the bluegill. Redworms working better for the shell crackers. Catfish and all other species went unreported last week.

The bass bite has yet to recover from the last storm that came through, and has been pretty tough for most guys fishing artificials. Very early and very late were the best times to pick a few of the finicky largemouth. The bluegill bite is still good on nightcrawlers, and small spinners such as roostertails, and panther martins. Bass were taking flukes, rip baits, and drop shotted robo worms, but the action cooled off with the recent front that came through. Some consistent air temps should get them going again. The bluegill bite seemed to be unaffected by the cold, and rain, and have been willing biters once you locate a school. Nightcrawlers, and mini jigs tipped with a mealworm were the best baits for the 'gills, which have been averaging a pound a piece. No reports...... Read More
