Murray Reservoir Fishing Report

by Murray Reservoir Staff

There are not very many anglers that fish for Carp at Lake Murray so I have never had much to report. On Monday 05/15/17, however, an angler named Vijay set out to test the waters. He caught 3 Carp weighing 18, 21, and 30.5Ibs! All the fish were released and he had a lot of fun. The lake temperature is staying at about 71 degrees and the water is a little bit cloudy but the Bass are still active. Bass have been coming in along the tules on the south side of Alvarado Bay and off the point entering San Carlos arm. Slowly dragging 6" black plastic worms has been very successful for several anglers this week. The panfish bite is still sporadic but some nice ones have been coming in. No report of any catfish this week.

Some decent sized panfish and catfish were caught on the fishing pier over the weekend. ...... Read More
