Another beautiful day on the outside enjoying steady action on excellent grade wahoo. A moderate pace allowed anglers to hone their skills as the majority of the action came from extended drifts. The whole bag of tricks was potentially effective. Bombs, jigs, and sardines fished on light outfits accounted for the majority of the catch. It made for a great day of fishing where time at the rail, skill, and effort were richly rewarded.

That said the catch of the day must be recognized and celebrated. At 83 pounds long time Royal Star veteran Gary Vincent landed the largest yellowtail that I have seen at Alijos Rocks and overall. The behemoth yellow was taken in the early morning hours on a dropper loop rig. I have to mention that the standout feature of this incredible fish is the perfect proportion and healthy appearance. Huge shoulders and incredible girth the full length of its body identified this dude as the clear muscle man of his precinct. Incredible. Congratulations to Gary on this fish of a lifetime. What a catch. Photo today rightly features Gary and the beast.

If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619) 224-4764 to get in on the action.
