Yellowtail Update

Hi Everyone,

We fished for yellowtail today and we were definitly not dissapppointed. We awoke to a flat calm ocean and a beautiful sunrise. Our chefs started our day with a breakfast of eggs benedict that was delicious to say the least. Just after breakfast, our current started to flow and it was on. Like someone had just turned on a light switch, it was wide open yellowtail fishing. Evrything was working from straight flylined sardine, egg sinker rigs, yo yo jigs, and even the surface iron. This fish put on an impressive show and bit with a reckless abandon for a few hours. The grade was impressive too with most of the fish averaging a little over 20 pounds and some standouts breaking the 30 pound mark. As good as it gets. One of my most enjoyable days ever fishing yellowtail. The group did awesome and some of the standouts today were Mitch Chivara, Doug Delaney, Bruce Coblenz, Rick Appel, Stephen Sotelo, John Filipoff, John Banta, and Jeff Bruner who was absolutely on fire with the surface iron. Strong work men! Today was Stephen Sotelos birthday, Happy Birthday Stephen! We will be looking offshore for tuna tomorrow.

Wish us luck,
Captain Bill Cavanaugh and the Intrepid Team
