Full of piss and vinegar rarin' to go I was reeled in abruptly as the sun  rose and we arrived at our chosen destination. Bird life everywhere, a few fish breaking, perfect conditions, the sonar lit up with signatures of yellowtail schooled and willing; the call to head out and start grinding was enthusiastically broadcast over the P,A,

Then, in an act of pure satisfaction indicating that one and all had reached their individual yellowtail threshold days prior, not a single angler made their way to the rail, not one. Somewhat surprised I could only laugh at the incongruity of the picture. Needing no further prompting we shifted the focus to coastal variety working the kelp lines hopscotching our way up the coast. Appreciating the rugged scenery of a still unspoiled Southern Baja the day passed in full leisure mode grappling a few bass and odds and ends as we cruised along. Less any angst or concern over fish production anglers enjoyed their time at sea liberated from the pressures running amok back home. Simplicity is one of the biggest draws to long range fishing; the chance to unplug from the rigors of life's routines. This voyage, as so many have been during this crazy 2020 season, is a shining example. Speaking of shining examples Royal Star angler Bob Boniadi does the honors today with this dandy "skin" landed a few days prior.
