Brutal

Best described as brutal the final day ended the voyage on a whimper. A few small spots of yellowfin and bluefin in the morning blew up and headed for the hills late leaving us, and the fleet, in their dust. While these disappearing acts are certainly not without precedent I have to admit that this round caught all of us off guard. To think that the amount of bluefin and yellowfin we saw over the past few weeks vacated over 70 miles of ocean in two days defies reason. But, there it is. Time will tell.
Heading out tomorrow for four we'll be back in the mix rolling out and down. Before that however I want to extend my most sincere gratitude to Tom and Dale Kurata for heading up the annual seven day Izorline voyage. Beginning on a high note we take solace in the early good fortune. Were it not for that - Whew. Tough would be a kind description. Onward and upward now. Enjoy today's image of third place jackpot winner Jake Carey with a beautiful 35 pound class bluefin.
