TROUT

The trout bite was on fire this weekend. Many anglers left with limits and multiple trout were caught weighing upwards of 4 lbs! Trout were caught at 30-50 ft. depths. The bite was strong both in the morning and afternoon. Triedand-true baits were diverse with chartreuse PowerBait, night crawlers, and pink colored tackle.

Stocking change: The next stocking of trout is the week of March 20th. View the most up-to-date stocking schedule on our website www.lakejennings.org

Lake hours of operation will change to 6 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. beginning on Friday, March 17th until further notice.

BASS

Spring has sprung and bass are spawning! Anglers are catching bass in Sentry Cove, Shadow Cove, and Half Moon Cove with plastic worms. Come catch some bass at night this Saturday at Full Moon Fishing!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Full Moon Fishing is this Saturday, March 11th! The lake will remain open until 10 p.m. for fishing under the stars. A full-sized lantern is required after 6 p.m. Catch the trout bite at dusk or cast for catfish and bass roaming throughout the night.

The Lake Jennings Spring Photo Contest is here! Any photos taken at the lake between March and May are eligible for submission. Those wanting to participate can stop at the campground kiosk or bait shop for a free entry ticket into the park. For detailed information, please visit www.lakejennings.org/ photocontest this year’s Spring Carnival will be on Saturday, April 8th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m! The festivities will include a reappearance of the Kid’s Pond for children under 10, free paddle boating for the whole family, and an egg hunt with 2,000 eggs. 1,700 lbs. of trout will be stocked for this event.

The lake will be open every day for Spring Break from April 7th - 23rd. free private boat launch on Tuesdays, April 11th and 18th! Come boat, hike, or fish the lake any day!

Best Trout Lures/Bait: Power Worms Best Bass Spots: Shadow Cove Best Bass Lures/Bait: Drop-shot, swimbaits, plastic worms.
Best Catfish Spots: T-dock, Half Moon Cove.
Best Catfish Bait: PowerBait Best Panfish Spot: Sentry Point Best Panfish Lures/Bait: Meal worms and night crawlers.
