Trout are biting on green Power Worms in deep waters. 1,500 lbs. of Rainbow trout will be stocked near the end of this week!

Lake Jennings will be open late for Full Moon Fishing on Saturday, March 11th! The lake will remain open until 10 p.m. for fishing under the stars. A full sized-lantern is required after 6 p.m. Catch the trout bite at dusk or cast for catfish roaming throughout the night.

This year’s Spring Carnival will be on Saturday, April 8th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m! The festivities will include a reappearance of the Kid’s Pond for children under 10, free paddle boating for the whole family, and an egg hunt with 2,000 eggs. 1,700 lbs. of trout will be stocked for this event.

PANFISH

The bluegill and redear bite is heavy in Hermit Cove and along the campground shoreline. The panfish are biting on night crawlers.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Looking for a new adventure? A stretch of trail (.8 miles) opened last Friday connecting the Old El Monte Pump Station on El Monte Road to Lake Jennings. This trail is part of the historic Helix Flume Trail which follows the redwood flume that was used to deliver water from the Cuyamaca Mountains to La Mesa. The Helix Flume Trail is part of a partially realized plan to route hikers and cyclists from Julian to Ocean Beach! See for yourself, a piece of San Diego’s history! Parking available at Lake Jennings or off El Monte Road.

The lake will be open for Spring Break from April 7th - 23rd. Free private boat launch on Tuesdays, April 11th and 18th!
