The bass have been slowly moving up to some more reasonable depths, but are still staggered from 5’ to 40’ generally speaking. This last Sunday saw the shiner fishermen get a lot of limits, while those fishing artificials had to work much harder for their fish. No panfish as of late, although there were some nice catches made on blue catfish, with fish to 30 lbs reported in at the marina. Cut mackerel was the bait of choice, and the Kimball arm the top location for the kitties.

Bass fishing was rated as fair to good last week, with most the fish coming on drop shot, and jigs, in 30’ to 50’ of water. Most of the largemouth have been in the 1.5 to 2.5 pound range, with fish to 5Ibs. reported at the marina. No word on any catfish, or panfish last week. Bass fishing has been fair, with fish still all over the water column. Shallow fish have been taking senkos, Texas rigged plastics, and small swimbaits. Deep fish have biting ice jigs, spoons, and drop shot. Mainlake points, and rocky areas have been the best bet for the largemouth. All other gamefish were M.I.A. last week. ...... Read More
